We invite applications for a vacant Post-Doc position at the Albert Einstein Institute (AEI, Max-Planck Institute for Gravitational Physics) in Hannover in the “10m Prototype Interferometer Facility Group”. This facility offers a unique experimental environment for testing technologies for future gravitational wave detectors. Beside a Michelson type interferometer testing the SQL of interferometry a “Thermal Noise Interferometer” for the direct measurement of coating thermal noise is being commissioned. In a vibrant environment the candidate will be organising daily activities of a group of Bachelor-, Master-, and PhD students and will also be able to pursue own research interests. Qualified candidates need to have a PhD in physics, astronomy, or a related field.
Salary will be in form of a Max-Planck stipend and will depend on personal details of the candidate, such as research experience, etc.
