Congratulations to Abhay Ashtekar (Penn State), the recipient of the 2019 Einstein Prize. The Einstein prize is awarded by the APS to recognize outstanding accomplishments in the field of gravitational physics. Prof. Ashtekar is highly deserving of this award, as his contributions to the field are well-known and far-reaching. The Citation reads:
“For numerous and seminal contributions to general relativity, including the theory of black holes, canonical quantum gravity, and quantum cosmology.“
